Daisy, I'm coming for you.

Tears crawled into her eyes. Sitting on her knees with her hands over her ears, slouching, she would cry my name and tell herself that this isn't possible. Her tears were waves crashing to the ground, her body trembling over my corpse, and yet, how could I also be crying? She ran her shaking hands through my hair as she placed her pounding forehead against mine. "You can't leave me." she'd demand, "You can't die."
In fact she had said that many times, as if my death was unlawful in her eyes. And I yearned to reach out to her, to hold her...But my paralyzed body lay still. She'd stay there for hours. It amazed me how the tears kept coming, how she just kept begging like if she would ask me enough times I would just open my eyes. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, I could make out two words... "Thank you."
I awoke in my bed, and felt my hand to my left, searching for hers. I'd never find it, of course. She had been long gone by now. So I closed my eyes once more and hoped I'd dream of her again.
